What is Prophecy?
Return to JCIA home Page
Prophecy is history written aforetime by God to be yet revealed. By divine guidance prophetic words of wisdom are given to God’s prophets by the Holy Spirit. Prophecy foretells believers of God’s plan for mankind and what awaits the world in the future. The unbliever will not see Biblical prophecy or understand it.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (KJV) 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
God does nothing before he first tells His prophets (Amos 3:7). Approximately 1/3 of the Bible is prophecy but the student of prophecy finds prophetic “nuggets” on each and every page. The Hebrew customs, traditions and the Feasts of the Lord give “foreshadows” of things to come. Any understanding prophecy is incomplete unless the Scriptures are interpreted literally - God means what He says & say what He means - and unless one has a grasp of the Hebraic roots of the Christian faith.
